Gettig Guard™
Safety Needle System

• Fits all standard syringes

• Never recap

• Safe solution for incremental injections

• Use with prefilled cartridges
The Gettig Guard™ safety needle, designed to reduce the incidence of needlestick injuries, is an economical alternative to other bloodborne pathogen devices. When combined with a 1cc, 3cc, 5cc or 10cc disposable syringe, the cost is less than many of the leading safety syringes.

Ease of use was an important consideration in the Gettig Guard™ safety needle design. By simply pressing the "release" tab, the guard can be retracted over the syringe, exposing the needle and allowing you to draw medication or administer an injection. Once finished, simply slide the guard back to its original position and press the "permanent lock" tab. The needle is now ready for disposal.

Because there is no needle cap to use, the clinicians' hands remain safely "behind" the needle at all times while drawing medication or administering an injection.

The Gettig Guard™ is the only safety needle product that comes out of the package in a safe mode, addressing the "clean" needle stick issue.

Gettig Guard™ safety needles are available in virtually any size, from 30 gauge 1/2 inch to 16 gauge 1-1/2 inch, and are delivered sterile in individual, familiar "peel pack" wrappers for convenience.

The Gettig Guard™ is the most compliant safety needle in regard to the Blood Pathogen Standards, cited in the Code of Federal Regulations Title 29 (CFR1910.1030). It states "Contaminated needles and contaminated sharps shall not be bent, recapped or removed....." and "All procedures involving blood or other potentially infectious materials shall be performed in such a manner to minimize splashing, spraying, spattering, and generation of droplets....." The Gettig Guard™ removes the option of recapping, bending is not necessary, and removal is not required. When the safety feature is activated, there is no splashing, spraying, spattering, or generation of droplets.
